Looking for a fun way to keep kids active before school starts? Join us at the Highland Park High School pool for a week of Splashball and water polo games, skill-building, and classic summer camp fun. Campers spend the day in and around the pool with experienced coaches and counselors, learning new skills, making friends, and building confidence in the water. Perfect for beginners and younger athletes. No prior water polo experience required. Dates & Times ● Session 2: August 10-14 ● Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday – Friday) Week 2 focuses on tactics & teamplay, in a fun, supportive environment: (1) Water confidence and treading techniques (2) The Eggbeater Kick (core water polo movement) (3) Passing, catching, and ball control (4) Basic shooting and small-sided games (5) Teamwork and sportsmanship Friday Skills Showcase: On Friday at 1:45 PM, parents, siblings, and friends are invited to the pool deck to see what campers have learned. Enjoy a short skills demonstration, fun scrimmage, and our “Big Splash” finale, followed by an Awards Ceremony celebrating every camper. Daily Schedule: (subject to change based on weather and group needs) ● 9:00 AM: Welcome & Dry-land Warm-up (Agility & Coordination) ● 9:30 AM: Strategy Session: Rules and "Chalk Talks" ● 10:00 AM: Pool Session #1: FUNdamentals (Treading, swimming, and skills) ● 11:00 AM: Snack & Hydration Break ● 11:30 AM: Traditional Camp Fun: crafts, trivia, games, or outdoor activities ● 12:15 PM: Lunch & Quiet Rest Period ● 1:00 PM: Tactical Games: Passing drills or strategy drawing ● 1:45 PM: Pool Session #2: Shooting drills and scrimmages ● 2:45 PM: Daily Wrap-Up ● 3:00 PM: Pick-up What to Bring: ● Swimsuit ● Towel ● Nut-free snack and lunch (non-refrigerated) ● Large reusable water bottle ● Goggles (optional) Note: Please label all items with your camper's name! Program Highlights: ● Balanced Camp Experienced: We balance high-intensity pool time with creative crafts like t-shirt making, friendship bracelets, and team banners. ● Safety & Supportive Environment: We prioritize water confidence and treading skills before introducing game play. ● Leadership Roles: Campers attending both weeks earn "Junior Captain" titles to help mentor newcomers. ● Awards: Every camper is recognized during our Friday Awards Ceremony for their achievements.
