Program Desciption

A fun, high-energy introduction to team sports in the water. Designed for beginners and multi-sport kids, Splashball reinforces water safety skills, practices comfort in water, and is engaging for kids using fun games and drills, as well as social skills building in an inclusive "team" environment. It also builds coordination, confidence, and athletic IQ, without added joint impact or pressure. Through engaging games and simple skill-based drills, athletes build coordination, confidence, teamwork, and comfort in the water while learning the fundamentals of the sport. Please note: this class may share pool space with other programs and not designated as sensory friendly. We offer a separate program on Sundays specifically for athletes that prefer a lower sensory environment in which to learn. No prior water polo experience is required, this class is perfect for first-time players. Friends and siblings are encouraged to participate together, and families are welcome to join simply because the Sunday schedule or quieter learning environment is the best fit for them. Parents are welcome to observe from the pool deck during class. Session Features: • Shared pool environment • Beginner-friendly for first-time players • Coaches experienced with diverse learning needs PROGRAM DETAILS Experience: No prior Splashball or water polo experience is required. Participants should be comfortable swimming in shallow water (approximately 3 feet deep). Foam noodles are available to assist younger or less confident swimmers. Instruction: Activities are age-appropriate and include smaller water polo balls, simple skill drills, and fun water-based games designed to build comfort and confidence in the pool. This program is able to be combined with Sunday session for even greater skills development, practice, and fun! Details: Activities are age-appropriate and include smaller water polo balls, simple skill drills, and fun water-based games designed to build comfort and confidence in the pool. Dates: June 17 - July 29 Time: Wednesdays 4:30 - 5:30 PM
